Well, now for that fantastic news! During the past few weeks, Alexis came off of the oxygen and feeding tube. Riley also came off the feeding tube. Both girls are bottle feeding so well. Riley also came off of the oxygen a couple weeks after Alexis. Riley has been struggling a little bit more. However, Alexis did so well that she was discharged from the hospital on Thursday, October 18, 2007.

This is a picture of Riley trying to show us that she really didn't need the oxygen. However, the doctors did not quite agree with her yet. The oxygen came off a few days later though.
Don't let the following picture deceive you. This was a really hard day for us since we were worried that Riley's health would decline with Alexis going home (which we later found out would not be an issue). This was our family picture before Alexis went home.

Great to hear that the girls are getting so much stronger! Sharon and I have the same tub and the exact same bath robe for Gavin and Evelyn! Cute as a button!
